My wife frequently sleeps out on the couch; I snore (or so she says), and she's also an insomniac. For awhile, we had a system where she'd sleep out on the couch Sunday through Thursday nights, so I could be rested for work, and I'd sleep out there Friday and Saturday nights, so she could have the bed and get some better rest.

While I was laid up post-knee surgery, I was on the couch full time, as our bed is somewhat high and awkward to get into with impaired mobility. Now she's currently out on the couch full time, recovering from her foot surgery, though maybe only for a couple more weeks. (She was thinking clearly, though...she pulled out the sofa sleeper.) We may go back to the swap-off schedule once she's properly recovered, unless we can figure out a way to allow her to sleep in the same bed with me again.

I occasionally have fallen asleep on my recliner, and she sometimes wakes me up when that happens, because she worries about me and whether I've left my contact lenses in. (I'm trying to be a little more aware of that myself, taking the advice of my optometrist to not keep my lenses in as long.)
