Okay, hairdog, I can't resist this one...

How many remember the TV series "Murphy Brown"? Murphy was a high-powered TV newswoman based in Washington, played by Candace Bergen.

In one episode, her dad (played by Darren McGaven) came for a visit accompanied by his new wife (probably 25 years younger than he) and his new baby.

His ex (Murphy's mom, played by Colleen Dewhurst as a very feisty, crusty broad) showed up at the same time. Theirs had been a stormy marriage, and a bitter divorce.

When Colleen saw the new baby, she said to Darren, "I would have thought that at your age, you'd be shooting blanks."

He replied with one of the great lines in TV history: "It helps to have a live target."
