Uh oh,

The pressure is on. I'm being asked whether I'm doing any working on goals or if I'm just keeping busy snooping. Reading Bruce's post and the advice from Michelle here's a list of headway I've attempted/made.

So addressing my previous goals:

1) I've started making headway in the book. This financial guy I was seeing about my kids' college funds gave me a suggestion and I went with it. I really got into it because I was writing what I know.

2) Funded more into my kids' college funds (and none for XWs kids )

3) Got enrolled in a creative writing class through the university. Haven't got the course material yet (it's a correspondence course)

4) Started looking at possible CE courses for work. Was considering Boston in the fall, but somewhere warm sounds better. Bought two new work related books.

5) Joined a volleyball team for fall/winter league. Still need more practice. I got rusty in the fifteen years I didn't play.

6) Haven't made it to the gym in months (5 or so). Need to get back, but not sure how high a priority this is. I do need to get in better shape.

7) Have focused on having quality time with the kids. Built a game of Norwegian horseshoes to play together.

8) Went out a time or two with some girls from work including last night. Very fun

9) Put a fair amount of my XWs stuff in the empty room downstairs (she noticed, but didn't mention it until I asked if she was going to take some of it)

10) Changed comforter and rest of bedding from what we had when married which is nice because it's another thing not to have as a reminder

11) Have not taken the scuba class I wanted to yet, but I'll get to it if I have time.

That's what I'm doing so far. None of these listed are for XW. I've read through some relationship books and step-parenting books, but I'm on hold with her. I won't discourage friendship with her if she initiates things, but I want to keep busy with my own stuff. Mainly I want to get at least an hour's worth of writing done per day. I started doing some of this writing when things get slow at work and I find that helps.

Gotta go. Off to Rosebud SD today. I'll write more later.

Have a good day everyone.
