Here is a reading recommendation for the loners in our crowd:

"Party of One: The Loners' Manifesto", by Anneli Rufus.

My W & I are both loners. It's a pretty good match. However, we are loners for differednt reasons. W doesn't like people, and has a hint of social anxiety. She will go out grocery shopping Sunday morning at 6AM in order to avoid crowds. She has a hard time being by herself, though, and one of her biggest complaints in our relationship has been when I have left her alone (because of too much working or going to school part time).

I just enjoy solitude. I like to go out to lunch by myself with something to read. It recharges me. I like people and enjoy them when I am with them, but I don't go out of my way to seek them out.

I also think men are more likely to be loners than women. I think there is an evolutionary explanation for that in there somewhere.

Anyway, there won't be any parties at the Mech home soon .
