I was asleep this morning and DD4 dumped my post on my head, LOL.

I got a REALLY GOOD review from an editor at one of the 3 publisher's looking at my book. I have been accepted by 2 out of the 3, and still waiting to hear from the third publisher.

Here's what they said:

BOOK REVIEW:

The first thing that struck the reader is that everyone must remember that a novel takes every reader differently - it is the accuracy, the truth of the narrative or the authorial voice. This extraordinary story has creative authority.

This is a situation we have imagined, or met - or at least seen passing. It doesn't take away from the artistic truth of the book; it is a very effectively presented chunk of real life that sings with authenticity, in the voice of its participant.

This is a narrative of the joys and tragedies of today and of the always achingly difficult relations between man and woman, but it is not a story of desperation but of overcoming, a theme which could appear hackneyed were it not redeemed by the finally sympathetic characters of the writer and of 'Peter', that hold the narrative together.
It is personal drama that succeeds in communication.

Joanna takes the reader into a powerfully real world. The tone is intimate and conversational and has the strong voice of personal authentic experience.

It is from personal experience and observation that the novelist creates a world of imagination, where, as in this book, the characters move and behave in keeping with the novelist's rules of engagement. But this is more than that; this is experience directly transformed into art; it is an art object that one feels has almost come about accidently, like something found.

At 500 pages, Joanna gives herself the space fully to explore and develop her theme and finally, to bring us, the reader, with her and Peter, to a good satisfactory closure. - Mark Sykes, Editor in Chief.

I nearly cried when I read it.
