The L/M u part may have been a little over the top, but oh well. The response certainly doesn't seem negative. I agree...see what comes of it. I think that it's great you asked his opinion. Men like it when you ask for their thoughts...especially since it's about a son and Dads always know the cooler presents.
Give things a day or two and see if there are any small positive signs. Do you have some small goals so you can recognize these signs should they appear?
Well hopefully he will actually get back to you on the b-day ideas. Think of it as a chance to prop him up..."great idea" whatever.
