My MIL had an illegitimate child who she put up for adoption when she was a 19 year old college student. The interesting thing is the father of the child was African-American which was pretty unusual for circa 1960 rural Michigan. My MIL is very chatty and will talk about just about anything but this topic is never discussed. The only thing that reminds me that my H has a biological half-brother is the fact that my MIL is a huge fan of Denzel Washington and is always saying things like "I would pay to watch a commercial if it had Denzel in it.".
