This here's a bored board, and I reckon since we all love a readin' and a writin', I oughta just start me up a new thread of poems and stuff. I done did got me a new book, and it's a full a funny "love" poems.

"Contradictoria"

I love you, I love You, I hate you,
I hate you, I love you, I don't.
I want you- I just want to hate you
I just want to love you, but won't.

You make me unhappy, I hate you,
I loathe you, and that is a fact,
Get out of my life or I'll kill you.
Hey, where are you going? Come back!

Don't leave me, I love you, I loathe you.
You're brutal, you're charming, you're me
You're my one and only, I love you.
Get out of my sight or I'll scream!

I love you, you're special, you're nothing
You're no one, you're someone quite dear
I hate you, I miss you, I love you.
I hope that I've made myself clear.

As I wait patiently for nocturnal friend to be ready for "A Hitchiker's..." I will pollute the board some more.

"i wanna be yours"

Let me be your vacuum cleaner
breathing in your dust
let me be your ford cortina
i will never rust
if you like your coffee hot
let me be your coffee pot
you can call all the shots
i wanna be yours

let me be your raincoat
for those frequent rainy days
let me be your dreamboat
when you wanna sail away
let me be your teddy bear
take me with you everywhere
i don't care
i wanna be yours

let me be your electric meter
i will not run out
let me be the electric heater
you get cold without
let me be your setting lotion
hold your hair
with deep devotion
deep as the deep
atlantic ocean
that's how deep is my emotion
deep deep deep deep de deep deep
i don't wanna be hers
i wanna be yours

Two more shorties, then I've gotta take a sortie to the film....

"I Once Thought a Lot of a Friend"

I once thought a lot of a friend,
Who turned out to be, in the end,
the most southerly part
(As I'd feared from the start)
Of a horse with a northerly trend.

ANON.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

"This Cat"

This cat
she expects love.
Demands it
Stalks it
feels she has a right to it.
She is not ashamed-
I wish I were more like this cat.

Just got back from "Hitchhiker's" - had a date with D12. We rather enjoyed it. I proceeded to the library's website to put the trilogy on reserve.

Proud of my broken heart since thou didst break it,
Proud of the pain I did not feel till thee,
Proud of my night since thou with moons dost slake it,
Not to partake thy passion, my humility.

Hitchiker was quite funny... May need to read the book myself.

"I Love You Because"
(A Monster Duet)

You're fat and lumpy,
Ugly and grumpy,
Hairy, green and grimy,
You're big and smelly,
Sticky-out belly,
Oily, wet and shiny,
And that's why I love you.

You're cruel and grim,
You do people in,
You're eyes are small and beady,
You're nasty and sly,
You cheat and lie,
You're evil, mean and greedy,
And that's why I love you.

Oh, to have a life....

#8

it may not always be so; and i say
that if your lips, which I have loved, should touch
another's, and your dear strong fingers clutch
his heart, as mine in time not far away;
if on another's face your sweet hair lay
in such a silence as I know, or such
great writhing words as, uttering overmuch,
stand helplessly before the spirit at bay;

if this should be, i say if this should be-
you of my heart, send me a little word;
that i may go unto him, and take his hands,
saying, Accept all happiness from me.
Then i shall turn my face, and hear one bird
sing terribly afar in the lost lands.

i like my body when it is with your
body. It is so quite a new thing.
Muscles better and nerves more.
i like your body. i like what it does,
i like its hows. i like to feel the spine
of your body and its bones, and the trembling
-firm smoothness and which i will
again and again and again
kiss, i like kissing this and that of you,
i like, slowly stroking the, shocking fuzz
of your electric fur, and what-is-it comes
over parting flesh.... And eyes big love-crumbs,

and possibly i like the thrill

of under me you so quite new

I'll keep fillin' 'er up regular. I'm reading them, so I may as well share...

"A Dream Within A Dream"

Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow-
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.

I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand-
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep-while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?

"The Age of Reason"

Soon as the wind is cold
You'll turn your head around,
Tear the mannered fold
and leave without a sound.

I would not be your tongue
Nor bind you like a mask
But while we are both young
Respond to what I ask.

Share the starling's eye,
understand the loon,
feel the salmon's cry,
Respect the silent moon.

Harbor outlaw schemes,
Ignore the common weal,
Live beyond your dreams,
Never salute of kneel.

Daniel J. Langton
