Quote: they have to wear a uniform and sit at a desk all day at that age.
Starting around 6 grade, I think uniforms or all students having the same clothing is good in some respects. It eliminates some of the competition to dress better or worse than their peers.
Some of the Catholic shools have uniforms (2 choices) and the students look nice. The public high schools, grades 9 to 12, do not have uniforms and some groups of kids look and act like gang members. I think the gang want-a-bees would act better if they and everyone else in the school were required to wear uniforms.
Do the little ones have play time /recess? In the US (grades 1 to 6) we had a short recess in the AM, after lunch, and mid afternoon. School started at 8:15 AM and ended at 3:30PM. Starting at grade 7 and above, all time is spent in class except for 20 minuets for lunch and gym/physical education 2 times a week.
Home ED home school in the US is popular with some parents who dislike public schools for various reasons. My personal opinion would be, If more parents would get involved in school activities and bring their values to the schools, there would be less of a need to home school.
OK day for me Jo. i am doing less for BB and she seems to be doing more for herself and me.
BB wanted to "LOOK" at more exescise equipments. I said OK if we "LOOK" but not to get any ideas to buy. She picked out what she wantesd but I reminded her this trip was a "LOOKING" only adventure. I also implied her looking to replace existing equipment will not take place for several years.
Yes Jo, many people think you and your situation is amazing. You have made some incredable progress, given all of the bad things you and H went through. When people see success they want to emulate what was done to reach a simillar goal. Success breeds success Jo.
