When H calls next time and pressures for meeting try... that won't work for me. Remember you don't owe him other info. The phone isn't really his to question either. Why not tell him in email, I have a new phone and you'll probably notice the change in answering machine message. Then you don't have to defend. It is just a fact.
You know your sitch best but this might take away H opportunity to turn your decision/change back at you.
