HD,
I have a question for you.

Firstly, I must say with a great deal of sadness that my pelvic pain is back. The laparoscopy and appendectomy did not fix it, although I am glad the appendix didn't burst on its own.
I got my stitches out yesterday and told the doctor about the familiar pain that is back. He was VERY short (he thought the appendix was causing this the whole time, despite my telling him in the hosp that the pain was nowhere near the appendix and never has been) and said, Well I will be DONE with you if this did not take care of it. I will have to refer you to a GI specialist. I gave you so many antibiotics that there is no way that any kind of infection could still be happening.

I replied, I agree. Antibiotics have not helped me for some time so I think whatever infection may have been present has been gone for some time. The pain, however, has stuck around. So I am guessing that they are not related..?

He then made some snide remark about having a baby at home being "unsanitary" (which it isn't, in fact it was a LOT less risky--as far as germs are concerned--than a hospital birth. At no time did ANYTHING go up my body..not a human hand, or instrument of any kind. In addition my body did not touch anything from my home until 24 hours after the delivery. I rested on disposable and brand new paper sheets. ETC ETC)

He was really very snotty but that is not the point of my post at all, just venting.

I am writing to you because I was wondering if pelvic pain was the tipoff that you needed to get checked for a hernia? My mother had hernia surgery a couple of years ago but she is in Utah and I can't ask her.
Wouldn't the laparoscopy have spotted a hernia, if there was one?

Sorry to bother you with my health woes. I am to the WTF is the matter with me stage.

Any advice re: hernias you could give me, I'd appreciate. I found a hilarious British website about hernias but other than the quite general "groin pain" they don't tell you what it FEELS like.

Hope your week is going well. Oh and aren't you enjoying this lovely winter..er, spring, weather??

H.
