Well, what do you like to make?

You could make something the night before, take it in a cooler then stick it in a crock pot or something to heat it up.

Chili, sloppy joes, italian beef all come to mind in the hearty foods category. Or you could bring some other part of the dinner like dessert (easy to transport) and a salad (no heating required).

If you are going to be "worried" about it could you call and ask what the provisions are for re-heating?
