Monday I received a letter from the A's office that is handling the incident with J's van. They had received a letter from her insurance company that their claim against me was paid in full. J still has 2 years to file an injury claim but it isn't looking too likely with this much time having past already. We have not heard anything from the Prosecutors office yet but hopefully if we do we can show them the letter from the insurance company that I have made restitution in full and they will just let it go at that point.
Last night I received a letter from the A that handled my divorce in response to a letter that I sent her in January. She is claiming to remember what happened with David differently and did not address at all what she may or may not have said to me. But, regardless she is offering to give me a 50% reduction in my bill if I pay it in full in 60 days. Maybe that is because she is being nice and maybe that is because she does feel she didn't do her best job protecting me in this divorce. Either way I believe I am going to take her up on her offer. That way I no longer have to worry about getting something from her in the mail every few months! That will be one more thing settled and closed.
