I know all about that feeling down thing. It's okay... keep in mind that there will be a better tomorrow. Okay to get down, just don't stay there long.

Think of a time that he expects you to be home and then don't be. When he asks be somewhat evasive. For instance you might say "I had to buy something". Let his mind wonder.
