Yesterday I was exhausted, today I feel battered! I have really got to get in shape to keep up with the kids now that they are getting active in our sport again. Albeit in new areas for us.
Start the morning in my usual way. Running around like a chicken with my head cut off. Why is it that someone who LIKES to be organized, sucks at it so badly?
Loaded crates with the extra towels in them for muddy dogs. Loaded my boots for later, even remembered a bag to keep them in. Loaded all dog treats, training bag, water and water bowls!
Loaded one coat with a hood, one sweatshirt, one jacket, and one vest. Started the morning in my t-shirt. Met my vet at 8:00 for breakfast, followed her back to the clinic and went in with Breeze.
B had lost .2 in weight but still holding a descent weight. The heart mummer is GONE!!! The vet thinks it must have been an infection on one of the valves since the infection she has had all summer/fall/winter was so bad. Did a blood check on the kidney values, the creatnin was normal and the BUN has dropped way down. So all looks pretty good. We are going to try her on Anipryl, for senility, sometimes she gets lost in the back yard. I left her at the vet's office as she spent the day with my vet. I am sure she mooched plenty at lunch time!
Headed out for Frostbyte's class at 10:00, he did a really nice job, very pleased with him. He always gets compliments. So far I haven't taught the dog anything, so the credit goes to D. He did a nice job starting the dog. Next at 11:30 Tara had an agility class and she did pretty well. It was spitting some tiny flakes of snow but then let up. Cool but not too bad, temp was still above freezing my van said when I got back in to leave.
We did drive thru for lunch and headed out for Shara's 2:30 herding lesson. I proceeded to get lost, then close to the lesson, lost again. Luckily I did find it!!! I had been there twice but both times was riding with someone else and I don't pay close attention when I'm not the one driving.
Got there and they weren't back from lunch yet. So I walked the dogs. Let Shimmer get out as he had just been riding around in the crate with nothing to do. The wind was horrible and the temp said 21 degrees. I had driven through sleet getting there but thank goodness it wasn't doing that there, just the horrible wind.
They finally got back late and hadn't finished the morning lessons. I'm thinking I'm freezing!!! I have to meet my vet at 4:00 to pick up B and the dog food she was picking up from the other vet's office for me. She was doing me a favor and I didn't want her to have to wait. I mentioned just skipping but they said oh no, you are here and Shara wants to play with the sheep. Which she did she was standing holding one foot up and yipping and yapping when she could see the sheep.
So we stayed but I FROZE!!! She worked in the big field and that is the first time we had done that, always the small pen before. She scattered the sheep some as she doesn't know how to rate them and neither of us has a clue exactly what we are supposed to be doing. Overall she did a great job and I was pleased with her. Me, I just couldn't seem to get enough air backing quickly back and forth across this large field, turning circles every time she ran the sheep past me.
So Sunday we ALL RESTED!!!!!
