Not much good stuff to report on physically improving myself. I need to channel my inner Jenny and get back on track!

I gained a pound over the Christmas holidays so I have been extra vigilant this week. I also finally picked up a Pilates video at the library today and it says on the package "3 ten minute sessions" or something like that. I am energized by that, as I think I may stand a chance of being able to do one consecutive thing for ten minutes. Fifteen, no way, lol. My kids would sniff that out like a good hunting dog..."Mom is doing something for herSELF?! I don't THINK so!"

My H is being very complimentary about the progress which is a huge departure from him. After D2, I dropped the weight pretty rapidly and never heard a word from him.

I have also been incorporating a little protein into my diet, at the suggestion of either MrsNOP or Karen, not sure. I don't eat much at lunch, for a variety of reasons..mostly so I can sit down with my family at night and eat a delish supper.

So I've stagnated a bit during the holiday food blitz but I can feel myself getting back on track every day. I still have 12 lbs to go but who's counting.

OH and I'm making sure to get my nighttime exercise in, at least 4 times a week.

HP:

Green with envy over that 4x/week number.

We've all been sick. I am now feeling better and H is out of town on business and I plan to get back on the wagon with diet and exercise. I didn't gain over the holidays but I didn't lose any either. If I want a belly ring ready belly for Valentine's Day then I better get going!

Ok, now I'm green over the belly ring!!!

Dang it, I just told H last night that while the rest of me is shrinking, I still have the loose-skin flab thing going on around the belly.

I keep telling myself that I had a flat stomach before I got pregnant and I will have one again.

Kids! They WRECK ya!

P.S. I think my H would die of a heart attack if I wore anything that actually showed my bellybutton, except a swimsuit. Even then, he is conservative!

I still have the loose skin but baby is 8 mos now and it is getting better a little bit at a time. I honestly think that if I get very strict with the diet in the next month, do a little aerobic activity (power walking) and a little strenght training I will have it. The size 4s and 6s fit but the belly needs work!

After my WW meeting last night, I realized that I am within 10 lbs of my goal weight. This feels fantastic. Mentally I can handle counting down from 10 much easier than I can from, say, 30!

I was down 3 lbs, which sounds like a lot but my weight tends to fluctuate drastically due to the amount of milk that is currently in my breasts. As long as the general trend is downwards, I don't worry about numbers. And I especially don't weigh myself at home as I am far too lazy to drag out the scale.
I am still a good ways from being able to fit in my clothes but it is getting closer and closer. H was very complimentary to me when I arrived home--almost going overboard--so I know he is trying to be supportive and encouraging.

Congrats, HP. I just found out that my W just joined WW. I hope it works better for her than Curves.

The whole thing to loosing weight is controlling what you eat and exercise, which "I" have not been able mentally to do either at this time

She just called me up and wanted to know if I was interested in "doing WW" with her. Translation: if you cook me foods that add up to too many points, it's your fault if I don't lose weight.

I told her I would look at the website, but that, since I was working out at my office building's fitness center 3-5 times a week, I didn't feel I needed WW. I think I'm at an okay weight...just would like it re-distributed a bit.

ANNNNNNNNNNNNNKKKKKKKKKKK. Wrong answer.

Correct response: "Honey, I would love to do WW with you. Thanks for including me!"

Harry,
I agree with NOP on this one. It is very hard to lose weight when looking at what your family typically eats and thinking to yourself, I'll never be able to join them again!

Plus, she obviously fears FAILURE more than anything else in this world. FAILURE strikes fear in her heart. Have I mentioned that FAILURE seems to terrify your wife?

She wants you to do it with her so that her chances for success are optimized.

To you I say: What would it hurt?

Or, do this. Tell her you don't want to attend meetings but you will happily help her figure out the points for the family meal so that she can determine her portion size.

I don't eat "special" foods. I eat whatever my family is eating, including dining out. I just have to be VERY careful with my other meals, which is a happy tradeoff for me.
I, too, have tried to show my husband my WW materials and he was most uninterested. It really hurt my feelings, to tell ya the truth! I have been doing this for 3 solid months now. If your wife has any significant amount of weight to lose, she will be doing this long term as well. So it would be in your best interest to take an interest in her long term interest.

Honeypot, who seriously needs some adult interaction today.
