LOL, I tend to agree with you. Our dogs are spoiled rotten, mostly by my H. I show 2 of them, the other 1 is an obedience dog. I just haven't gotten around to doing the other 2 in obedience yet. Probably never will. When I go away to shows for weekends then the dog gets special treatment and can sleep on the bed with me, and I can see sometimes letting them sleep on the bed for special times, but not every single night. I even suggested letting them sleep in H bed and he sleep with me and put a gate up at the door, he won't do it. They would probably stand at the gate and whine anyway

Dear Dogs and Cats,

When I say to move, it means go someplace else, not switch positions with each other so there are still two of you in the way. If you walk in front of me, do not look back to see where you are supposed to go. If you want me to lead, walk along side or behind me, that way I am the leader.

The dishes with the paw prints are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Please note: placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find it aesthetically pleasing in the least.

The stairway and the hallway were not designed by NASCAR and are not racetracks. Beating me to the bottom of the stairs is not the object, and tripping me doesn’t help, because I can fall faster than you can run.

I cannot buy anything larger than a king size bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue to sleep on the couch to insure your comfort. Look at the videos of dogs and cats sleeping, they can actually curl up in a ball! It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other, stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out the other end (to maximize space used) is nothing but sarcasm. The rug in front of the kitchen sink is not your bed. That large oval pad filled with foam, by the sofa, is your daybed. Also, My compact discs are not miniature Frisbees. My socks are not tug-of-war toys.

For the last time, there is NO secret exit from the bathroom. If by some miracle I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, and try to turn the knob, or get your paw under the edge and try to pull the door open. I must exit through the same door I entered. In addition, I have been using bathrooms for years. Canine assistance is not required.

Please do not clean the cat litter box. I paid almost $100.00 for that self raking contraption and want to see it work. Also, cat droppings are not Tootsie Rolls or doggie vitamins. Your breath is bad enough without eating more smelly things. Who wants to be Canine kissed by a dog that just chowed down on litter box droppings? For your information, the cat litter sticks to your nose, so I can tell when you were in the cat box.

The proper order of social interaction is to kiss me, then go smell each other’s butt. I cannot stress this enough. It would be such a simple change for you, and make me very happy.

Annette, Yes the dogs will whine and sleep at the gate. Been there, done that and lost due to W fusion with dogs. Dogs are social creatures. Them sleeping on the other bed is not the issue for the dogs. To the dogs, you are the alpha pair and they want to be with you.

OG Lou. Who likes dogs and cats, but they should not come before spouse.

Lou: this cracked me up...too close to the truth.

To all DB posters. I am glad you liked the Dog and Cat Post. I agree, too much like the real thing no to like it.

I like to add a little humor if I can. Right now I have so much work coming in I certanially can not keep posting as I have been in the past. Also getting difficult to keep a PMA with more of the same nothingness here at home. I might start reading something like "War and Peace" like HD.

I guess I will become mostly a lurker and if anyone has advice for me I will respond. Boy, do I need things to change in our M but I know I can go so far and then it is up to the W to do something. Anyone hopping a freighter to some warm island?

Thanks OG Lou You guys keep at it and keep posting. I need a break.

we call these "cat poop snacks." One of our doggies (Jessica, of blessed memory) was especially fond of them!

Lou,

Good luck to you. We will look forward to the occasional update. I will be gone for a week after Christmas myself. We are going to FL - the island plan fell through at the last moment.

Our old deceased doggie liked those also, before the kitties were just memories ( he is burried out back in the woods with those two) he also liked "poopsicles"

Lillieperl,

Printed out the post, and took it with. As soon as the counselor started asking questions, I just told her I'd read SSM, and went to the website to post on the support forum. Saved a ton of time, and we were able to get right to brass tacks.

BTW, the counselor had read and was a fan of DB & SSM. Guess I chose well!
