Just a quick update to let you all know that T_L and I have been really digging in to our R and lo and behold wonderful things are happening. WE have really started to communicate softly to one another ..in this I mean no argueing, no raised voices, no fault finding....just a tremendous amount of love and understanding.
T_L is learning new and better ways to view life....cup half full rather than half empty. WE are building our R on what the future holds for us, which right now are a multitude of changes but we have decided to take the leap together, knowing that we will be there for each other through good and bad.
Retiring at the age of 40 is a daunting task but T_L is determined to evaluate the pros and cons with me by his side. I cannot tell you how much this has affected even how we talk about sex. In the last week we have figured out that we can stand up for what each of us believes in but still find a common ground to agree on.
We have a long way to go and we both know it but.... we are doing it together and that is the most important thing.
Thanks to all of you who along with us have opened our marriages and lives up to almost strangers, giving us insight and knowledge.
Good luck to both of you. I'm sure you'll both grow stronger learning about each other. What a wonderful thing that TL is able to retire at 40! I hope you have many happy, growing years together.
Hey Ya'll slow down....Yes he is retiring but unfortunately not forever he is currently looking for employment in the state we both have been waiting to move too. We really have been looking forward to raising our son , away from the big cities. Part of our stressors have been whether to retire or not. 20 years in the military and now out in the public sector (shivers) is scary. He is taking some months off though and we will be house hunting, job searching and life building. We are looking at this now as a great adventure.
It would be terrific if he really could retire totally right now but 9 year old boys are soooo expensive. Plus as you all know we also have S20 in college(we pay all his bills), D22 married with son, D20 married (and at this moment hoping) baby. D22 working full time with BF, D18 in career college, and D15 who thinks she is 40 (haha).
We have our heart set on about 10 acres in the mountains so our children and grandchildren have a place to go and unwind from the big city life. Only time will tell.
