At our synagogue the kid does part of the Friday night service, AND does 99 percent of the 1.5 to 2 hour Saturday service... including chanting in Hebrew AND delivering a sermon. Plus, he has to endure hugs and kisses from lots of old ladies wearing Youth Dew and White Linen (my two most unfavorite perfumes). It's a major accomplishment and deserving of LOTS of recognition!
