Ellie,

The door knob story is great! My wise father always used to tell us, there's an easy way and hard way to do everything. Why not do it the easy way? You found the easy way! Hpayy Thanksgiving!

While in the middle of our projects yesterday, I walked up to H in the garage where he was getting a tool and asked for a kiss. He gave me a peck and then said (jokingly, really) "You're so needy". I stopped, stood up tall and said "I'm not needy, I'm DEMANDING!" That got a smile out of him

LOL!! If the shoe fits.......:)

Had a nice overnight camping trip in the desert with H and D14 and S12 (S17 had to work). The evening before, H and I had dinner with a work colleague of his and wife, who were in town visiting her relatives for the holidays. Their 13 year old son is bulimic, so she and I had a lot to discuss.

When she heard of our plans to go camping, she commented that she's a "bad camper' and won't do those things. How silly is my H, that he's married to a 48 year old woman who is still willing to go camping in the desert where you have to dig your own hole to go potty and there aren't even trees to hide behind......and he thought about giving me up???? Didn't he realize what a rare find I am???????

It is sad, though, how many of the wives of my H's friends and acquaintances are that way - and how much they are missing out on.

So - if you've been a "bad camper" wife in the past - time to do a 180! There are worse things than learning to squat in the woods

Hello Ellie

Just found your thread and want to say thanks for sharing it with all of us confused souls.

I'm finding your "Post Game Analysis" quite helpful and hope to be able to follow your guidelines!

Ellie,

I don't just want to jump on the bandwagon here, but your post to 'itmustbeme' in Newcomers just knocked me off the chair. I'll update my thread this weekend, but I've been looking for a medical explanation for W's behavior for two years, and Wa La....there you have it!

Not to commondere your thread, but she has been through severe depression several times. two years ago she quit Paxil 'cold turkey', and it's been downhill from there with me and D15.

Then she gets this EA/OM (her boss, no less) and tries to spend EVERY living moment with him. All the while being very rollercoaster (and downright mean and rude) with me, but never really letting me go.

I'm going to show what you wrote to my C, just to get his opinion.

Again. thanks for what you wrote, great to meet you, and I'd love it if you could elaborate on it some!

I'm even inspired to update my "Christmas WAW" thread in Newcomers.

Have a great day!

Thanks, river Rat.

Well - as some of you know, my S17 had an emergency appendectomy last June. So guess what I was doing last night at midnight? Scraping my vasovagal, white as a sheet, pulse of 40 and blood pressure of 90 husband off the bathroom floor so I could spend the night in the ER with him while they diagnose HIS acute appendicitis!!!!

He came through surgery this morning fine, but will be in the hospital for a couple of days because of an ileus (bowel "stops moving" - don't worry, he will be fine). Much as i wanted nothing more that to stay by his side all day, I had to leave at noon because - guess what - my S13 is having his birthday party tonight and has invited about a 100 middle schoolers and I couldn't call it off if I tried because we could never track down all the kids he gave invites to!! Of course, I had planned to shop for it this morning - now I have to get it all ready, call some friends to help me ride herd on this bunch, call a girlfriend to go to the hospital and hold H's hand and take care of him for me - oh, and did I mention I haven't had any sleep yet???

Wish me luck - and superhuman powers

(BTW - H was very very sweet to me at the hospital today

Yikes, Ellie! I'm glad H is okay, but that's one hell of a case of bad timing, huh?

I do hope all goes well at S13's party! I have no doubt at your ability to put it all together, but with all this (100 middle schoolers? That alone is A LOT!) do make sure take care of yourself or you'll find yourself in the bed next to H's!

Hugs,
-H2H
