They were good at the vets. I'll be leaving early tomorrow, so probably off the board until next Monday.
Hang in there, everyone

Sage - thanks for the heads up! I always knew Hud's wife would want him back.

Soup - someday I'll get to Canada

Had a good time on the East Coast - after the travel day from hell! Somehow American Airlines only charged my H's ticket and not mine, even though we were travelling on the same reservation, and after it took the agent an hour to fix it, we missed our flight - and things went downhill from there! If I ever hear "I'm sorry, I can't help you" again, I'll scream!

Still, got to have lunch in NYC with JinBklyn and H2H from the Newcomer's forum - great gals, and more proof to me that DBers are an extraordinary group of people. Then the next day got to have lunch with my old friend MarchHare, and another friend of hers who is also a LBS - now divorced. MH's divorce is still not through, she refused to let him push it through based on a lie, so hopefully now he will be more reasonable about a settlement. MH looks great, though, and has a new job and is doing well.

Then H and I went out with his old college friend (who was an usher at our wedding) and his wife. We went out for a great Italian meal, then to see the wife's brother in an off-Broadway one man show - "Twisted Head" - very funny. (I don't get HBO, but I guess the brother has a tiny part on the Sopranos as Little Paulie?).

It was lovely to meet you, Ellie! Another fabulous DBer - we're an amazing bunch, aren't we?

Next time I'm in So.Cal. I will definitely stop through. I wish I'd known about DBing this past March - S. and I were out for a few weeks visiting his sister in the San Bernadino Valley, camping in the Mojave, and in San Diego for a day visiting the Salk Institute (for the architecture).

Glad your trip was full of friends and fun.

So, my daughter tells me yesterday that they got weighed in PE (I'm thinking,"oh no, this will be a trigger") - then proceeds to tell me how happy she is that she weighed 122 lbs. (she's 5'4", so that's perfect)!! I think she was really pleased to see that she could eat like a normal person and not obsess and end up at a normal weight - but it's HUGE that she can SEE that as a normal weight (when she was 90 lbs., she was "too fat").

She even showed off her abs to me the other day!

Great news indeed, Ellie! Sounds like she is healing very quickly. You worked so hard to get her there, too.

Oh Ellie, that's great! What a big step for her (and a happy day for you).

On what basis do you call 5'4" and 122 lbs. "perfect"--I mean, is there a set of standards you are using? Does it vary for a grown woman v. a teenage girl? I get so many comments about my weight now, and I can see that folks bring their baggage to the table--they range from "Wow, you look so great, tell me how you did it" (Answer: "Uh, my husband left me? Why don't you try it--works great!" ) to "You're too skinny, GBO, don't lose another pound...." I'm not really sure what to say to that ("Yeah, uh, I'll try to move this crisis along so I can get back to normal activities...."). But at the moment I'm about the same H/W as your daughter so I am curious what the experts have to say.....
