Otherwise, it puts them under "pressure" or makes them feel like they're having to "work" for a positive result and therefore, destroys any feeling of connectedness in the R. At this point in the explanation, the HDS' correct reaction is, "Poor baby" followed by a heartfelt hug and a promise never to do anything to make them feel like they have any responsibility toward the HDS ever again.
