Hey Betsey....seems as though the journey continues w/all of us. You are definitely one of those people that has a great following here on the bb and outside (i'm sure). As already mentioned, your words and insight help others even though we may not know the message while we're reading it.

Take care and good luck w/both Ds. I think you deserve some kind of award. Can we start an awards program here and nominate people? LOL It is truly an honor to know you and listen to you. God speed. Tootles..................

Betsey,

I'm slightly late to the party but I wanted to pop in and add my 2 cents. You are an inspiration on this board no matter what your decisions or why! I'm so thankful that you decided to come back / stay! Your guiding light helps us to follow as it lights up your own path as well as all the paths that divide off to each side.

Thanks for being there,
Totally

What a combination--prayers and praise! See how good life is in my neck of the woods?

I'm going to make this brief because I'm exhausted and I have to pick up D10 soon to take her to her school ice cream social and to meet her new teacher. Then a quick trip to D7's school for her popsicle social and to see her new classroom (she has the same teacher--thank goodness).

We just got home from her endoscopy. She's a little grumpy but otherwise okay. She's got more ulcers and they did a biopsy of them and put a wireless probe into her stomach for 24 hour reflux monitoring. We have a follow up appointment in a few weeks, but he'll be calling me sooner than that with the big news.

GD1, I was snoozing when you phoned last night. I actually crawled in bed shortly after 8 because this stuff is mentally exhausting. Too bad D7 had no desire to snooze... But I really was trying. I really need some sleep at some point!

I'll try to answer my e-mails over the course of the next 24 hours. I'm going to be home with D7 tomorrow, trying to keep her activity level down and make sure she wears the transmitter that is in her fanny pack. She's less than thrilled now... can only imagine how she's going to be by tomorrow!

That's it for now. I've got to go keep an eye on my wild child...

Hiya Pen!

You've been missed! (Did you notice someone here has asked about you?) Triple J also put out a MIA call for you on his thread as well...

Things have been busy in my corner of the ocean today. D7 has been an absolute spitfire, starting off this morning. We lost her at work for a few minutes... in that short space of time, she had grabbed the hose out front of my office, headed to the curb and was spraying passing cars along with herself. She was soaked! Then I found her next door at a condo complex laying down next to a big, strange dog (who was very friendly)... Needless to say, she smells like a dog today.

Mr. Wonderful is very cheerful these days. He phoned me from the golf course today to inquire about my night with the ever active D7 and to see how our day was going (he golfed poorly ) Then around dinner time, he called to offer to drive the truck load of branches up to my work dumpster, and asked if he could take all of us out to lunch tomorrow.

He said he wants to go over the parenting schedule and make sure we have synchronized our calendars, and then asked me if he could have the girls next weekend to take them camping. The peanut gallery was very enthusiastic about the opportunity.

It's my weekend to have them, but I've got them with me the following 2 weekends, so this is fine. Maybe I can actually get my bedroom painted? I've been meaning to get to it for the past few weeks, but found myself wanting to do other things. Like hang out with friends or hit the pool. Which still might beat out chores!

They are also excited about school on Monday. Naturally, I am very ready for their schedules to become a lot more routine as well. Hooray for routines!

More scheduled work out time. I might find me a hunky personal trainer who makes house calls instead!

Have a great weekend!

Betsey

Bets-

Glad to see D7 doing well(?) today. I have a few moments before Father Corapi comes on, but I wanted to post to urge you not to paint the bedroom. It would spoil the memories. Now THAT ought to get some rumors going!

Thanks for the well wishes for my trip. I'm not leaving until Monday, but the troops return tomorrow and the pre-game before the send-offcould be a thrill!

Keep on fighting the good fight.

Hi Bets,
Just wanted to chime in and say ... glad to see you decided to make your hiatus from here only a "Shore" leave.

I'm so sorry to hear about your nightmarish summer. Its the time of year I use to look most forward to. Lately, I've come to look at one precious moment to the next without attempting to group them together in any sort of way, especially under a season. The two that stand out most recently are seeing my FIL on Father's Day in totally ecstasy of being able to spend it surrounded by those he loved ... and ... being able to watched my family laugh and enjoy themselves on my D19's b-day with a dinner and a comedy show (good clean comedy) , when she thought she wouldn't be able to celebrate it at all this year. Everything in between is just is what makes those moments stand out even more.

I'm sorry to hear you're having to deal with some more health issues concerning D7 and will pray that they can be remedied with the best case senerio. When I read about her hosing those passing cars, I couldn't help but crack a smile and think she's just doing her part in keeping the world a "cooler" place to be. (Pun intended!) It so fits with everythings you describe about her.

... and D10 sounds like a true "Pre-teen"!!!

Yea that's what my D11 announced on her 10th b-day. "Now that I am in the double digits, I'm no longer a kid ... I'm a "Pre-teen"!" ... and she's been sticking to it also! Have you received any phonecalls from boys yet? Get ready ... its coming! This summer D11 been getting calls from a boy that was in her class last year. Everytime CAW & I hear him on the VM, we chuckle since he has a higher pitched voice than D11. (and yea we started the sex talk last year. Its amazing how much had gotten to her ears from school, but now we set some things straight.)

Most important you seem at peace with the direction your life is taking. You may be a bit more worn out, but if you truly find peace in your choice then the rest will follow. (Ok another bad pun), but seriously, maybe this weekend could be the perfect time to have a sleep marathon.

'til later,
KAW

I'm going to remember this, KAW.
