I've read lots of threads in which the R is in the pits, but the PI aspect is just great. That was Cathy's sitch for quite some time...and just a bit ago she posted that her H had initiated a HUG for the first time in ? years?, yet their sex life is hot as usual!
For SURE I know that sex isn't everything. And as promised, here's some of what IS working:
There's a genuine lightness and comaderie between us
We make each other laugh all the time
I take great pride in CJ's intelligence and such and let him know about it (You should see us watching Jeopardy together ).
CJ is working, albeit part-time, but it's been great for him to get out into the work world and do well. And he IS doing well and liking the work.
We move through our days together like a well-oiled machine. He makes breadsticks, while I sautee the chicken, we chat about our days. It's very clear that what we have together WORKS.
Especially of late when our good couple friends are having a rough patch (financial and alcohol) we really appreciate how much we seem to be on the same page. And how much LESS tension there is in the house compared to before.
And just now, for instance...he called me from work. He calls to say hi, or what do you need from the grocery store, every day.
He just asked me if I was excited about picking up the car and I said "Hell yes! Too excited to clean the house!" (jokingly) and he said "So what? It's not like there's a leaking hole in the roof (another of our pals' problems) or three days of dishes piled up"
I said "Yeah but there's a tumble weed or two of cat fur in the living room..." and he said "Ah, so what!"
Gotta love the guy for his easy going attitude about a lot of things. He doesn't EXPECT me to do all the cleaning, or cooking or shopping, and appreciates it when I do. (well, the cooking in particular ).
Is it almost like if the PI thing were in place this M would be really, really fulfilling (almost wrote "perfect" but, duh, there's no such thing!). I want that, I really do.
I do have a friend who is going to sex therapy. She has a ton of homework and is working on a ton of issues. Keep asking around. Maybe you'll find a good therapist.
Relax. Appreciate. Be calm. Laugh. Enjoy. Be secure. Be loving. Be loved. Don't personalize. Don't ASSume. Accept. Be grateful.
Yeah, Pam the 2-door IS the one that caught my eye, but if I canna see out the back it's nae the car for me!
Actually, on Saturday we stayed in town and went to watch our annual Dragon Boat races at our in-town lake. (Why they made a man-made lake in a province of THOUSANDS of lakes is beyond me...heck we're ON Lake Superior!).
It was fun, and we got to check out "artisans alley" where I bought a new bright tie-die tank top. (Class all the way! )
After that, CJ insisted that we go take photos of the car while it's still pristine...so we drove to the marina and he took a bunch of shots of me in and on the car!
Yesterday we had a lovely day out at my folks' camp (cottage, whatever...it's three stories high!). Dad boated all of us out to a private beach (where I once skinny dipped with my parents ) where we plunked our lawn chairs and collected rocks.
At dinner, after grace, I took the opportunity to really thank my folks and tell them how much I appreciate having them here...H lost her parents as a teen and is very good at reminding me how very lucky I am.
CJ was very quiet on the ride home and when we got back (car drove great ). I asked him if he was okay...he said "just tired". However, I wonder if the closeness with my parents culled up feelings in him as his Dad passed away 12 years ago and he doesn't see his mom all that much.
Oh well, quit mind reading, right CHL? The guy was probably TIRED!
WEll can't dawdle, I have a CAR at my disposal....so it's off to buy ingredients for a lovely Quiche and side salad.
Take note, Pam: I've already showered and it's not even noon!
Dinner last night??? Oh yes, I made a pasta salad (listen up for this one, Cath it's real easy!) and BBQ'd some sausages....nice for a hot summer day.
The pasta salad is a bit of a cheat...I buy the Kraft Dinner pasta salad (in the green box) use my own pasta (tri-colour or scoobie -doo's). The mix for the dressing in there is awesome...no need to make it from scratch...just add all the veggies cheese whatever you like.
Just got done watering the yard...took an hour! Another scorcher of a day here, but I had to do it now as we're going to a concert tonight...anyone out there remember "Blue Oyster Cult"? (Don't fear the reaper...Godzilla).
Looking forward to that!
Just enough time to do a short work out before heading to the shower...I hope that will cool me off long enough to spackle some make-up on!
