At last I now know what this "plate" is that I keep hearing about people stepping up to. It must be a thing in Baseball. We see no baseball here at all. The cricket equivalents are quite fun.
You prepare yourself at the "crease" to face an "over" of six balls from the bowler during which you must protect your "wicket" which has three "stumps" and two "bails". If you are skilful you hit the ball and get the runs. If you get no runs then you got a "maiden over" - which sounds rather nice to me

SD diary Sunday 8am
Last night we had quite a good discussion where I disclosed my twice a week goal again. The best thing about it is that at no point did I get over excited and talk too much but instead I made my point and left a long pause for her to think and occasionally reply. The pressure word came up again but I countered it by suggesting that the pressure is actually the gridlock that we must break through together. I think that some of the message got through and I am still convinced that we have a bright future to look forward to.
