I think it is right for you for NOW. It doesn't mean you have to live there the rest of your life. It is still an investment. All kind of things can happen - you could meet someone new (I know, hard to imagine or even want to do right now ), find a different job/career where you can better afford something in the country, decide you want to pick up & go somewhere else, etc.
I think it is great & it is good to start over somewhere that is just yours. I know it really helped my self esteem after I settled in my house & I think it shows the world that you can be independent. I am missing things about my H being here, but I was here before I even met him so I am getting used to it being mine again.
