I'm not sure if it's a wireless doorbell or not. We can't hear the doorbell upstairs unless this contraption is plugged in to the socket. Then when the doorbell rings, it plays, "America the Beautiful".
I unplugged it after the second time and slept happily.
Husband went outside after the second time and found where he could see some tracks in the dewy grass leading up to the house, and then running away from the house.
So, there is an actual culprit.
But, thanks for the tip...if there had been no tracks in the grass, we would have been realy confused!
Quote: Well, one night it was snowing...we were both asleep...the doorbell rang and we went tearing downstairs...only to find NO footsteps in the snow....
For a minute, I think we both believed it was possible that phantoms or ghosts had been torturing us with doorbell rings... but we eventually realized that our wireless doorbell must be on the same/similar frequency as a car alarm...so when one of the people across the street came or went at the crack of dawn, they used their car alarm and set off our doorbell!
We got rid of it! (and got a new one...which only occasionally goes off!)

Sage thank you for that info and the smile.
We have a wireless doorbell, never got it put up, but if I ever end up with one and this happens I bet I remember this story!

"We must be willing to let go of the life we had planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us"
Over the weekend, husband and I started the 12 week body for life challenge. We haven't entered the official contest...just challenging and supporting each other!
We went and bought two 1 pound weights, 2 15 pound weights. One 20 pound weight (as I already had one) and two 30 pound weights!
So now we have 1, 3, 5, 6.6, 10, 15, 20, 30
That's quite a selection!!
Makes me smile to see them all lined up against the wall.
PIB -- Wow, positives abound! Congrats on the last day of school (I can relate to the feeling! ) and BFL with hubby? WOW. That sounds like such a great idea!
