Pam,

It hurts...but it hurts sooo much less for me than shaving.

I find that when I shave, once the hair starts to grow back in, it itches so badly that I wake up in the night having scratched myself so much that I have scabs...and thus scars.

ARGH!

I don't know how come this started happening..but I'd much rather have hairy legs than have to deal with that horrible itching!

Sorry if too much info!

In any case...waxing is quick and the pain doesn't last long!

And I feel so sexy afterwards! Major pma boost!

Can you tell, I'm so excited...this will be such a treat!

Hugs!

I can tell you are excited.

Glad to know the pain won't last long for you, after it is done.

So when the hair grows back after being waxed it doesn't itch the same way as after you have shaved?

When the hair stylist talked me into letting her wax my eyebrows one time it hurt and was red for a long bit afterwards.

I am a wimp.

PIB -- I love, love, love your idea for creating a bit of mystery, a "vanishing" for you...and I love that it's something that delights you so much!

Have you ever tried taking ibuprofen a few hours before the waxing? I find that it helps me a lot

Pam,

I don't know why, but no...waxing doesn't have itching aftereffect.

I think it might be some form of razor burn.

Not sure.

Or maybe it was the lotion I was using...that might be it.

I found out that I am allergic to lotion that has Propylene Glycol in it. My brother asked me if after I used lotion, if I experienced a burning sensation on my hands. I told him I did, but assumed that it was because of how badly dry my hands were. He said nope..gave me his Aveeno lotion and told me to try it.

I've since started using Aveeno as needed and my hands have stopped cracking and peeling every day. In fact, I've gone from using lotion every day, to using it only when I want the smell! The very lotion I was using was causing my dryness! Evil!

So...maybe that was related to my legs as well.

Hmm..interesting...

Thanks Pam!

Hugs!

Hiya Sage!

Thank you for the visit and the idea!

I'd not thought of taking an ibuprofen before hand! What a great idea!

Hugs!

I am just learning all kinds of interesting stuff this afternoon.

You know this is what I have missed since Shiny left. We used to discuss non R stuff and I just felt close. I guess that is why I am supposed to be getting out and doing things with friends. But this is so much easier! I don't have to leave home! Or shave! LOL I couldn't resist.

Hiya Pam!

Thanks for giving me a much need break for my homework!

I'm extra tired today.

Some joker decided to ring our doorbell and run at 3:45 am and then again at 4:30 am.

Sigh.

Hugs all!

Good Morning PIB,

I am glad you had a break. Sometimes that is a good thing.

Uggg..on the doorbell ringing. Breeze got me up at 3 to go potty, then all the others wanted to go, then it takes a while for all of them to settle back down after we come back in.

Have a great day!

Do you happen to have a wireless doorbell by any chance?

A few years ago we had a bunch of wackadoos living across the street from us...they had people coming and going at all hours. anyway, we started getting these "doorbell ring and run" situations at all hours of the night. We'd hear the doorbell and go racing downstairs and no one would be there. It was infuriating.

Well, one night it was snowing...we were both asleep...the doorbell rang and we went tearing downstairs...only to find NO footsteps in the snow....

For a minute, I think we both believed it was possible that phantoms or ghosts had been torturing us with doorbell rings... but we eventually realized that our wireless doorbell must be on the same/similar frequency as a car alarm...so when one of the people across the street came or went at the crack of dawn, they used their car alarm and set off our doorbell!

We got rid of it! (and got a new one...which only occasionally goes off!)
