Hi slt - Personally I don't see any problem with changing the locks if the house is in your name, but I am not familiar with the property and family laws of the state of Mich.

The same is true of his stuff - Mich. might have special laws on when property is deemed to be abandoned.

I would suggest that you contact an attorney in Mich. Not necessarily with the idea of getting a D but of protecting your intrest and maybe waking him up.

As for Bankruptcy - any debt that is in your name is your responsibility. as for joint debt - if he files then that would discharge his obligation for that debt and it would all fall on you. if he does not pay for the truck and it gets repossessed and he files Bankruptcy then you would be liable for the ballance of the unpaid debt.

again I would suggest that you contact an attorney asap to protect your interest. Might file some protection order to allow you to take the truck, but you would have to keep making payments.

On the 401k - I don't see him getting 1/2 but again I do not know the laws of Mich.

I am sorry you are going through this but sometimes the WAS is in such a fog and can do real dammage to the R. Sometimes even so much damage that it is not fixable.

Again, I would find an good family law attorney ASAP.
