My older dog is 14 and she’s rapidly showing her age. She still eats and looks forwards to walks. The walks are much shorter than they used to be, with her more dragging her back end on the return trip. She too is hard of hearing and doesn’t see that good.

I found the pain is no where near like it used to be. However, it is there. At times. And so is the love.
Both are usually far overshadowed by other events, thoughts, and life. More fleeting moments now. Real. Genuine. Accepted.
At nine years I too think and believe the pain and love will never fully go away. And I’d not want/wish it to. For it was real. XW and I. And real and true has a life long affect.
