Next bike ride, I'm inviting myself. I'll be standing out in the driveway in my black leather, thumbing a ride. That ought to get his attention...

WOW Betsey you go girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your sister is lucky to have you. As we all are.

In my mind you are superwoman but I'm glad you broke down it just goes to show you are human.

I feel priviledged to be part of this little gathering. I realise being across the pond I catch things usually 48 hours later but all your comments fill me hope and make me stronger.

You all inspire me.

Joanne

Hey Mer we need you to throw another juicy topic in to get us all going. I love those debates

Hey Mer--it looks like Joanne wants a new topic du jour. I know you come up with the best ones, so I'm inviting it.

Until then, I'll do a little journaling.

Since I last mentioned Mr. W., he had called me yesterday after lunch and seemed a bit sad. He verbalized that he was going to miss us over the holiday weekend, and I opted to keep my mouth shut. So I was not at all surprised by his call at home last night.

He was just leaving work and talked to D10 for a few minutes when she yelled, "HEY, MOM! DAD WANTS TO TALK TO YOU."

He seemed a little nervous, cleared his throat and proceeded with, "Bets, do you guys have dinner plans tomorrow night?"

I was in the kitchen with everyone, so I repeated the question to my sister and BIL, who have taken it upon themselves to be my caretaker until they leave (including the cooking!). My sis grinned and said, "No." Mr. Wonderful said, "Great, can I take you all to dinner then? Provided we head to a kid friendly restaurant of your choice?"

He and my sister have their own special R. She said loudly (with a smile), "You buying?" He started to laugh and replied, "Tell her I heard her! Yes, I'm buying!"

We got that squared away and he commented in a very cheery voice, "Okay, well I'll come over as soon as I finish up at work. Thanks for letting me do this."

So we're all heading out to dinner tonight. I'll let you guys know if anything interesting occurs.

Hey now! I cannot take credit when it is not due! It is PAM who comes up with the hot topics…the OW thing, the board monotony--those were Pamela’s!! So, while I’ll gladly participate in any hot discussions, I am not very good at coming up with them.

And while I’m here…congrats and good luck with dinner!!

Betsey! I thought you were going to a "family" type place. They don't allow that kind of stuff in those!

uh...that is what you meant by "interesting," right?

I'll let ya borrow my Power Ranger outfit if you need it! Boots and helmet only, of course!

She's the Pink Ranger, if that helps to sway you! I'd say that would constitute as 'interesting'!!

Okay, Pam...nail us. What's the topic of the day!?

Ummm, while something of that nature would certainly be classified as "interesting", I don't think the manager of the Black Eyed Pea would ever let me back in!

My type of interesting would include anything remotely telling and along the lines of vocalizing his answer! However, since D7 will be in tow, we can lower the bar: No drink spills. No food throwing. No pulling down her pants in the middle of the restaurant to show she needs to go to the toilet.

But I WOULD be interested in a Pink Power Ranger outfit. Did I ever tell you that pink is my favorite color?

Well, there you go. I see some of the problem here. Shouldn't we be more concerned with Mr. W's favorite color? Though, I'm thinking with just boots and a helmet...well, the color really ain't gonna matter at that point!

O.K., here's my attempt at a topic for today...

What is it with the screen names? I admit, I stupidly used my own first name because I didn't know any better. But, now I am glad that I did. It is who I am. I may also be "hurting lots," "lonely," or a host of other things (definately not a "stubborndyke," but that is no slam on that name because I think it is a good one)...but those things should not define who I am. Those are not the first things I'd like to present myself as. After all, who in the world would want to know me if that is the best I can say for myself?

Just a thought.

I second. If you name yourself ‘desperate’, ‘lonely’, ‘sad’, etc on the board, you clearly see yourself as such. And, don’t you think your spouse does too? What a turn off…

Since the process of DB is working on yourself and how you portray yourself, I am always shocked to see the number of degrading names on the board!

Hi Pamela,
Some people pick their screen names by how they are feeling at the time they sign on the BB. When we come to this BB we are hurting lots, lonely and such. But as time goes on we out grow that screen name. People can change their screen names but it is such a hassle no one bothers.

I'm glad I used my name.It is who I am and I'm not worried about people seeing it.

It is true that you become what you define yourself.I no longer see myself as the broken woman I did when I signed on here is December. If I had chosen a name that no longer fits me I would change it.

Well off to the grocery store I need more food in the house. My house has become the nabor hood hangout.I'm spending so much time in the grocery store.

Later Friends.
