Perhaps a level of compassion could be shown here. There is level of struggle and pain that comes with being an LGBTQ+ person. Whatever side you fall on - A little empathy never hurt anyone...
Now I may be misinterpreting but are telling me to show compassion or kml? If you are referring to me, I'd welcome you to point out where I was not compassionate or where I was disrespectful to an individual. Now if you are referring to others, yes there were many rude responses and borderline mentally abusive comments towards I.

Ginger1, yes, exactly where my intention was.

IMHO - it seems like you both triggered each other. Clearly LGBT rights is extremely personal to KML. Clearly you are struggling with the feeling of being an "other".

We can sit here all day long and defend our thoughts and beliefs... OR we can listen. We can seek out to understand one another. THAT was what I was suggesting w/ the compassion comment. That is where the "christ-like" behavior comes in.

My favorite thing about Jesus is that.. he doesn't give a flying F what you think of him. He doesn't feel the need to defend or prove himself. His is kind regardless on if we are complete @ssholes. His compassion and empathy isn't based on anything (good or bad) we could do.

Obviously we can only strive to this. Obviously we will also fail at this. Wee are human with out own baggage. It was just a thought to maybe take a breath and come back from a place of curiosity.

Show empathy when there's pain. Show grace when warranted. Kindness in the midst of anger. Faith in the face of fear.

Love at all costs because you are loved well.
