Funny you should say this Butterfly, I've been scratching a hole in my head wondering the same thing since I saw a post late last night. I kept looking back to try to figure out how we started talking about such far afield topics and making such wild assumptions based on innuendo. I do have to say that Core continues to impress with his intelligent and well written comments. As for that original question and I guess part of the core of the squirrel we are somehow now following...
For the two year's I've constantly heard, "trust the science" or "follow the science". Well unlike more recent scientific findings that are clearly anything but settled, it would certainly seem that DNA science is pretty well settled. Oh sure we constantly are furthering and refining it but at it's basics, one of the simplest things DNA can tell us is if we are male or female. We cannot change that or claim it's not so anymore than we can claim we have 20 fingers or 2 heads when we clearly do not as anyone can see. We can FEEL differently all we want, but apart from some very rare cases, all you need to know is whether you have X and Y chromosomes (making you male) or a pair of X chromosomes which makes you a female. You can try to tell others it's not true or is inaccurate, and you can certainly FEEL it's not accurate but like we've been told, trust the science.
Of course that does not mean anyone should be threatened for their believes or their feelings anymore than we would threaten someone because they believe in Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny. It's their God given right to feel how they feel and we should not discount that. However, to try to demand that the rest of us feel the same way is not right and should not stand.
Somehow we have gotten to the point where we actually cannot agree on male and female as Core stated. Evidently in this case we want to ignore the science. Maybe I now see where the vax deniers are getting it from. And no, not even the Covid vaccine can change your DNA!
