Steve makes a good point. Our brains have not developed much in the last 10-40k years. When Neanderthals roamed the earth the women would look to men for strength for survival. If he was not strong she and the children would likely end up dead. Just as the same is why you are so anxious about your situation. Back then if you were rejected from the tribe you were likely dead meat. Her brain doesn’t know the difference and your brain doesn’t know the difference. Both are trying to keep each of you safe.
