Minnie -- well, yah, we need to know the factors that contributed but I was sort of poking fun at myself that I keep looking for the laundry list:
we were happy you did this I did this you did this I did this you did this - twice! etc
Oh wow -- I'm glad I'm not the only person who keeps looking for THE answer. Actually, my dh has been seeking the answer to "what happened" for a long time too. I'm kind of depressed that we may never know because then I'll always wonder if we're repeating history. I guess I need to stop those thoughts with thoughts of how different *I'm* going to be from now on -- so history can't repeat, right?
