Thanks everyone, I appreciate it! He was much younger than me so I never really did know him very well, just saw him once or twice a year at family stuff. My dad wasn't a good dad to me and my siblings when we were growing up and was even worse to my half-brother. I think that's the real lesson here is kids are very heavily molded by how they are brought up. That's not to say kids from a loving home don't sometimes pick the wrong path, but it's unusual whereas kids from an ambivalent or negative home have a very low success rate.

You are quite welcome! It's hard to come here sometimes and see people hurting so much, but it's worth it to see success stories like yours whether recon happens or not. I think that's what it's all about is helping people save themselves!
