Just curious, if there wasn't any legal and binding agreement beforehand why were you paying support? Is this an agreement you came up with or your L? Is this your arrangement and you are filing pro se? If so have a L review it.
Here is my opinion and others may disagree. I used to live in a state that was top 10 for public education now I live in a state that is closer to the bottom. We put our kids in private school because of this. However 8k - 17k for Kindergarten?
