I think you need to stay where you have employment. You have no children together, and do not own the house. If you return, and have no way of supporting yourself.......that just looks as if you are weak and are needing her to support you. In this particular situation, I really can't see how that would help the respect factor for either of you.
It is not about what you feel should work in your M. It is about doing the work that gets the right results. Do what works!
