Funny thing I forgot to mention -
Local researcher is doing a study on the genetics of OCD. I figured our family would probably qualify (since S12 has OCD symptoms and tics, and D13's anorexia has OCD components as well). Obviously I'd like to do our part to help research into this disease, so I contacted the research coordinator and she sent me these questionnaires for our family to fill out (then they will conduct interviews and draw blood samples).

The last page pertains to ethnicity, and asks me to categorize all four of my grandparents by their primary ethnic groups. There are several categories of caucasians, such as Group D "Caucasian - Western European" and Group G "Caucasian - US/Canada - but NOT French canadian" - oh, no, if you're French-Canadian, you are supposed to enter Group X. Group X also includes Amish, Ashkenazi Jews, Icelanders - all these really inbred populations!!!!

Well, my mother's family is all French-Canadian - I never dreamed that meant I was part of an inbred population!!!!
Who knew????
