What do you know about some sort of wood flooring?

I don't want wood, because of dog toenails and I sure don't want something I have to wax!

I was wondering what else is available? Thinking of discussing replacing that bad carpet in the dinning room with CHL.

It would have to be replaced to sell the house. I put a lot into it last year but it really just needs to go!
