Today I went home for lunch and let the dog out. My daughter was there. She told me her mom was on her way to pick up a curling iron. Within 5 minutes she knocked and came in. I was sitting on the couch. She said hi to my D. She really didn't acknowledge me. I said there is some mail there for you. She picked it up and said " i'm going to go home and rest before I pick up the kids from school". I just politely said. "sounds good, see you later". She walked out the door.
A few seconds later I went out the same door to go back to work, but did not say anything. She got in her car and I got in mine and we left.
I have to admit it was nice to see her. I so wanted to visit and just have a friendly talk. But figured it probably was not the time. It was very uncomfortable for me just to not say anything. Do you think I did the right thing. I didn't want her to think I was being too stand offish, but maybe I did. I don't want her to feel an ounce of pressure from me. So I think I did the right thing for now.
