When I see people healing and rediscovering themselves...it puts a big smile on my face.

It takes time to heal, but each of you will at your own pace. Keep up the good work!

Sit quietly, the answers will reveal themselves when you least expect them to.
The past is gone, the present is a gift and you need to focus on today, allow the future to reveal itself when it is ready.

Took CMM to see my favorite punk band X last night. VERY out of his musical wheelhouse (he's a jazz and old R & B kind of guy) but he was nodding his head in time to the music by the end and said he had a great time. PHEW! Because if he couldn't appreciate them I'm not sure if I could continue dating him lol!

Saw X last fall with brother from another mother and another old friend of ours. We had a great time. Bro upgraded us to VIP, so I got a signed poster and lots of cool swag to add to the frame -- bringing it to the shop finally on Saturday to get it done up nicely for my new place.

It was a great show at a smaller venue, which was really fun. I was about 10 feet from the stage. Great stuff!!! Glad CMM enjoyed himself!

Just got my tickets to The D@mned for their fall US tour - opening night here in Boston!! Very, very excited. There's a group of us going. Should be good fun! Also seeing Killing Joke in September for their anniversary tour.

BTW, did you happen to see Stiff Little Fingers is playing Belfast end of next month with The Buzzcocks and The D@mned??? What a bill! I wish I could go to that show - three of my favorites on the same night! Even though my flight would be free, can't justify the trip so close to son starting college, especially since I'm not sure his Dad will do the right thing and pay up like he's supposed to.

Bttfly

Put your imagination on it and find a way to go to your concert. I would meet you there.

Hello KML, an old friend dropping by to say high and to thank you for the time, effort and wisdom you continue to bring to all of us. I know your medical knowledge has been very helpful to me, and your insights with your exH are equal gems. Little by little, day by day, I guess we all get through and keep forging ahead. Hope to join you on this thread in the near future.

Hi! We DO get through, bit by bit, all that pain with my divorce from my ex seems like another lifetime ago now.

And while I may not have always made the wisest choices in post-divorce dates, one universal thread is that the men I dated ALL thought I was great. Some were unavailable, some inappropriate, but they all appreciated me in ways my ex couldn't. I was just thinking about that this weekend, much of which was spent with CMM (I slept over at his place for the first time - he has air conditioning smile ).

Even though I was much younger, thinner and prettier when I was with my ex, I don't think ex ever made me feel as goddess-like as CMM does (and as most of my previous dates did). (Don't get me wrong, I'm no super model, but a somewhat overweight 62 year old with curves in all the right places, brains and a good attitude. Add to that I like men and I'm pretty sane and men my age who like smart women think they've hit the jackpot.)

I don't think I'll ever quite understand my ex, except that he just wasn't capable of being satisfied with many things in his life, and I was just one. I don't take it personally any more.

This comforted me so much when I read it, Ellie. Yes, it isn't personal at all. So hard to remember that when they are heaping all the blame for the failure of the relationship on us. Many many thanks for this!

One woman to another on the TV show Insecure:

"You gotta kiss a lot of frogs to find a really good frog." lol
