Don't use kids as an excuse to maintain contact. There is a tactic called hybrid NC. Split kid stuff from other stuff. Other stuff is through L.

I will collect kids from grandma's at 4 pm. S12 has dental at 9 on Tuesday. Use a calender such as my familywizard. Text is for emergencies only. One of you maintains calender, each of you has contact with schools, doctors etc. Stick to the court orders. Never enter each others homes. Make separate school visits and school events sit away from each other. It's called parallel parenting.
