6 year old asked what I was buying mommy for her bday, and said "you are buying her something right?" when I said no, she said, very sadly "It's because you aren't going to be married, is it?"

I just looked at her and smiled. I tried to reassure her everything would be okay and said "But I will help you make a gift for her".

She smiled and said okay.

At least i don't feel like a complete failure atm.

Gah, I will get better at this. I am trying not to show anything negative.
