I would. Just be polite and courteous if you do. You don't want to be like your W lol, but just keep it short. What is the W looking for and why wouldn't she contact you about it?

I would look in the coat pocket, if it's there, respond, "Yes, it is here." If it's not, I would respond, "No, I looked and it is not there." Short, simple and to the point.

Thanks leahsue. I did look and it's not there so will go with latter option. Hopefully, it appears 'as if' enough?

I agree. I usually go with something like: "It isn't there. Hope all is well."

But I think you should check and at least reply that it isn't there.
