In regards to all the bank accounts she closed there are definitely records of every transaction so I am also not worried about that. Here in the US, in most cases, marital property is divided evenly by our court system if the parties cannot reach an agreement

If I were you, I would start taking proper precautions in order to protect myself. If it comes to D you want to be prepared. I know you don't want a D, but maybe you should seek legal advice on what you can start doing at this point in order to minimize the damage.

My W has already taken all marital assets of value with her so I am already on the back foot. I will have to get some legal advice to see what my options are. And legal advice is so expensive that I not sure if I can even afford it at this stage. My solution is simple - I keep what I came into the marriage with and she can keep what she came with. I believe it is the same back here in the UK if there is no agreement marital assets are divided evenly by our courts. Though they strongly recommend to sort it out amongst the parties themselves.

I took out a personal loan on my name and invested it in her business. All the liability is on my shoulders. Like I said my friend - I've been a fool for love. No doubt about it.

All assets, aswell as loans are divided in the process. So I put it to you, that she is responsible for half of the loan.

As for the legal advice, IMO you cannot afford NOT to get it.

I shouldn't even have to pay half. But, that's the price I pay for love.

I guess you are right here.

There is no right about it. To not do so would be stupid.

Thanks Jeep74, I hear you. I'll start doing my research to see what options are available.

Also, what forum is Sunmoon referring to?

Go to Tacoma world - the truck forum and look up spacemanspiff. Shoot me a message and we will go from there. As Sunmoon says, it'll be a better fit.

I'm in Jeep74 but unable to start a conversation with you. Any chance you can touch base with me on there?
