Not sure how it works were you live, but you might want to consult legal advice in regards to your tax return as I am sure she is entitled to half depending on how you filed.

Good for you! Next time you do speak with her just be polite and let her know that you have been busy. Set boundaries for yourself and keep all communication short. There is no need to be rude, but always be the one to end the conversation.
