Sometimes when we want attention we don't always recognise that. We feel insecure, not connected or in not control, perhaps without reAssurance we feel we need etc. At age 18 or so this can still be confusing particularly for an adolescent/teenage boy trying to be an adult. As they are often less emotionally mature than girls of the same age. He may not recognise his need to talk. Just company with you with a lot of silence and validation when he talks will do wonders. Her may spew but just do what you did with your W and listen and validate is my suggestion. Before you know it I trust he will open up a little. You can then respond and help like only Dads can at times. Good luck.
