Well, I knew early on that it might not turn out like I'd hoped, and I wasn't too far off. I am disappointed, but I won't let it show, because it really wasn't in the cards from the beginning. Her sore throat came back during the evening, and by bedtime she wasn't in the mood for anything but sleep. She figures it must be some kind of allergy, because she was fine during the day. She's probably right. No biggie... there'll be other nights. It's supposed to warm up this weekend, so maybe...
