REALLY working hard on DB and keeping dark as much as possible

Question, my sister mentioned yesterday that the WAW is telling her she wishes I would call (another person now!!).

How have people "balanced" exactly how dark they should be during this process? Is there such a thing as "semi-dark"?

Feels like she wants me to contact her but wondering if it is just loneliness on her part.
